FOD Prevention Programs

FOD (Foreign Object Debris/Damage) Prevention Programs are a set of procedures and practices implemented by aviation organizations to prevent the introduction, accumulation, and potential damage caused by foreign objects on aircraft, runways, taxiways, and other areas of the airport. FOD can include anything from loose hardware, rocks, and debris to wildlife and even people. FOD Prevention Programs typically involve regular inspections, training for personnel, and the use of specialized equipment to detect and remove foreign objects. These programs are critical to ensuring the safety and efficiency of aviation operations, as FOD can cause damage to aircraft, delay flights, and even lead to accidents.
