Forced Labor

Forced labor refers to work or service that is exacted from any person under the menace of any penalty and for which the said person has not offered himself or herself voluntarily. In aviation context, forced labor can occur in the supply chain of aviation products and services, such as the manufacturing of aircraft parts or the provision of in-flight catering services. Forced labor can also occur in the recruitment and employment of aviation personnel, such as pilots, flight attendants, and ground staff. The aviation industry has a responsibility to ensure that forced labor is not present in any aspect of its operations, and to take steps to identify and address any instances of forced labor that may arise.
