Glass Cockpit

A glass cockpit is an aircraft cockpit that features electronic (digital) flight instrument displays, typically large LCD screens, rather than the traditional analog dials and gauges. The primary flight display (PFD) shows critical flight information such as airspeed, altitude, attitude, heading, and vertical speed, while the multifunction display (MFD) provides additional information such as weather radar, navigation, and engine data. Glass cockpits offer improved situational awareness, reduced pilot workload, and increased safety. They are commonly found in modern commercial airliners, business jets, and military aircraft.
