High-speed Aircraft

High-speed aircraft are airplanes designed to fly at speeds greater than Mach 1, which is the speed of sound. These aircraft are typically used for military purposes, such as reconnaissance or combat, but can also be used for commercial purposes, such as supersonic transport. High-speed aircraft are designed with features such as swept wings, afterburners, and supersonic engines to enable them to fly at such high speeds. The most famous high-speed aircraft is the Concorde, which was a supersonic passenger jet that operated from 1976 to 2003.
