Inertia
Inertia is the resistance of an object to any change in its motion, including changes to its speed and direction. In aviation, inertia plays a crucial role in the movement of aircraft. During takeoff, an aircraft must overcome its inertia to accelerate to the necessary speed for lift-off. Similarly, during landing, an aircraft must use its brakes to overcome its inertia and come to a stop. Inertia also affects the movement of an aircraft in flight, as it resists any changes to the aircraft's speed or direction. Pilots must take into account the effects of inertia when making adjustments to the aircraft's flight path.
