Interception

Interception in aviation refers to the act of one aircraft meeting and flying in close proximity to another aircraft. This can occur for a variety of reasons, including air traffic control instructions, military operations, or emergency situations. Interception procedures are established to ensure the safety of both aircraft involved, and to prevent any misunderstandings or potential collisions. Interception can involve visual identification, radio communication, and escorting of the intercepted aircraft to a designated location. In some cases, interception may also involve the use of force, such as when intercepting an unauthorized or hostile aircraft.
