Ishihara Test
The Ishihara Test is a color perception test for red-green color deficiencies. It consists of a series of plates containing dots of different colors and sizes, which form numbers or shapes that are visible only to people with normal color vision. The test is widely used in aviation to screen pilots and air traffic controllers for color vision deficiencies, which can affect their ability to distinguish between colored lights and signals in the cockpit or on the runway. The Ishihara Test is named after its creator, Dr. Shinobu Ishihara, a Japanese ophthalmologist who developed it in 1917.
