Military Operation

A military operation is the coordinated military actions of a state, or a non-state actor, in response to a developing situation. These actions are designed as a military plan to resolve the situation in the state's favor. Military operations can be large scale, involving thousands of military personnel, or small scale, involving a single squad or platoon. Military operations can be conducted in the air, on land, or at sea, and can involve a variety of military assets, including aircraft, tanks, ships, and ground troops. Military operations are often classified as offensive or defensive, and can be conducted in peacetime or during a conflict.
