Multilateration
Multilateration is a navigation technique that determines the location of an aircraft by measuring the time difference of arrival (TDOA) of signals from multiple ground-based stations. The TDOA measurements are used to calculate the aircraft's position using geometric algorithms. Multilateration is often used in air traffic control systems to supplement or replace traditional radar systems, especially in areas where radar coverage is limited or where radar signals may be disrupted. It is also used in aircraft tracking systems to provide more accurate and reliable position information.
