Navigation Systems
Navigation systems are electronic systems that provide information to the pilot regarding the aircraft's position, speed, altitude, and direction. These systems use a combination of sensors, communication links, and databases to determine the aircraft's location and provide guidance to the pilot. Navigation systems can be classified into two categories: primary and secondary. Primary navigation systems include inertial navigation systems (INS), global positioning systems (GPS), and radio navigation systems such as VOR and NDB. Secondary navigation systems include flight management systems (FMS) and electronic flight bags (EFB). Navigation systems are essential for safe and efficient flight operations.
