Non-Precision Approach

A non-precision approach is an instrument approach procedure that does not require the use of electronic glide slope or vertical path information. Instead, the pilot must use visual references and the altimeter to descend to the runway. Non-precision approaches have higher minimum descent altitudes and less accurate lateral and vertical guidance than precision approaches. Examples of non-precision approaches include VOR, NDB, and GPS approaches.
