NOTAM

NOTAM stands for Notice to Airmen. It is a notice containing information concerning the establishment, condition, or change in any aeronautical facility, service, procedure or hazard, the timely knowledge of which is essential to personnel concerned with flight operations. NOTAMs are issued by responsible authorities prior to a flight and may be issued for the entire airspace or for a specific airport or route. They may include information on closed runways, taxiways, or ramps, changes in radio frequencies, or other important information that could affect the safety of a flight. Pilots are required to review all NOTAMs prior to a flight to ensure they have the most up-to-date information.
