Pilot-in-command (PIC)
Pilot-in-command (PIC) is the individual who has final authority and responsibility for the operation and safety of an aircraft during flight time. The PIC is responsible for the safety of all crew members, passengers, and cargo on board the aircraft. The PIC must ensure that the aircraft is airworthy and that all necessary pre-flight checks have been completed. During the flight, the PIC must make decisions regarding the route, altitude, and speed of the aircraft, and must take appropriate action in the event of an emergency. The PIC must also comply with all applicable regulations and procedures, and must maintain effective communication with air traffic control and other relevant parties.
