Prisms

In aviation, prisms are optical devices used in the cockpit to display critical flight information such as altitude, airspeed, and heading. They work by reflecting the image of the instrument panel onto a transparent glass surface, allowing the pilot to view the information without having to look down at the instruments. Prisms are commonly used in military aircraft and high-performance civilian aircraft where quick and accurate monitoring of flight parameters is essential. They are also used in some helicopter cockpits to provide a better view of the ground during low-altitude operations.
