Radio Navigation

Radio Navigation is the use of radio frequencies to determine the position, direction, and speed of an aircraft. It involves the use of ground-based radio beacons, such as VOR (VHF Omni-Directional Range) and NDB (Non-Directional Beacon), and satellite-based navigation systems, such as GPS (Global Positioning System) and WAAS (Wide Area Augmentation System). Radio Navigation is an essential component of modern aviation, providing pilots with accurate and reliable information about their location and heading, especially in low visibility conditions. It is used for both en route and approach navigation, and is a critical component of instrument flight procedures.
