Retractable
Retractable refers to a feature of an aircraft's landing gear that can be extended or retracted during flight. The purpose of retractable landing gear is to reduce drag and improve the aerodynamics of the aircraft while in flight. When the landing gear is retracted, the aircraft's fuselage is streamlined, which reduces the amount of drag that the aircraft experiences. This, in turn, allows the aircraft to fly faster and more efficiently. Retractable landing gear is commonly found on commercial airliners, military aircraft, and high-performance general aviation aircraft.
