Supplemental Type Certificate
A Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) is a certificate issued by aviation authorities to approve a modification or addition to an existing aircraft design. The STC process involves a detailed engineering analysis to ensure that the modification or addition does not adversely affect the aircraft's airworthiness or performance. The STC holder is responsible for ensuring that the modified aircraft continues to meet all applicable airworthiness standards. STCs are commonly used to install new avionics equipment, modify aircraft interiors, or improve aircraft performance.
