Sustainable Aviation Fuel
Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) is a type of biofuel that is produced from renewable resources and has a lower carbon footprint compared to traditional jet fuel. SAF can be made from a variety of sources such as used cooking oil, agricultural waste, and algae. The production and use of SAF can significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve air quality. SAF can be used in existing aircraft engines without any modifications and has been approved for use by major aviation regulatory bodies. The aviation industry has set a target to use SAF for at least 2% of total aviation fuel consumption by 2025, and to achieve carbon-neutral growth from 2020 onwards.
