Temporary Flight Restrictions
Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs) are airspace restrictions established by the Federal aviation administration (FAA) to protect persons or property in the air or on the ground. TFRs are issued in response to a wide range of situations, including natural disasters, hazardous materials incidents, security threats, and special events. TFRs can be issued for a specific location, altitude, and time period, and can apply to all aircraft or only to certain types of aircraft. Pilots are required to check for TFRs before every flight and comply with the restrictions. Violating a TFR can result in serious consequences, including fines, license suspension, and even interception by military aircraft.
