A touch screen is a display device that allows the user to interact with a computer or device by touching areas on the screen. In aviation, touch screens are commonly used in modern cockpit displays, such as the primary flight display (PFD) and the multifunction display (MFD). These displays allow pilots to interact with the aircraft's systems and instruments by touching the screen, rather than using physical buttons or knobs.
