Trailing Edges
In aviation, the trailing edge is the rear edge of an aircraft's wing, where the airflow separates to rejoin the undisturbed airflow. It is the opposite of the leading edge, which is the front edge of the wing where the airflow first meets the wing. The shape and design of the trailing edge are critical to the aerodynamic performance of the wing, as it affects the lift, drag, and stability of the aircraft. Trailing edges can be either simple or complex, with some wings having flaps, ailerons, or other control surfaces attached to them to adjust the airflow and control the aircraft's movement. Proper maintenance and inspection of the trailing edges are essential to ensure the safety and efficiency of the aircraft.
