Control Surfaces

Control surfaces are movable surfaces on an aircraft that allow the pilot to control the direction and attitude of the aircraft in flight. These surfaces include ailerons, elevators, and rudder. Ailerons are located on the trailing edge of the wing and are used to control the roll of the aircraft. Elevators are located on the trailing edge of the horizontal stabilizer and are used to control the pitch of the aircraft. The rudder is located on the trailing edge of the vertical stabilizer and is used to control the yaw of the aircraft. Control surfaces are typically operated by the pilot through a system of cables, pulleys, and hydraulics.
