Wet Leasing
Wet leasing is a practice in the aviation industry where an airline leases an aircraft along with its crew, maintenance, and insurance to another airline or organization. In a wet lease, the lessor provides the aircraft, crew, and other necessary services to the lessee, who operates the aircraft under their own Air Operator's Certificate (AOC) and is responsible for the commercial aspects of the flight. Wet leasing is often used by airlines to meet short-term capacity needs, to operate flights to new destinations, or to cover for aircraft that are undergoing maintenance. It is also a cost-effective way for airlines to expand their operations without having to invest in new aircraft or hire additional staff.
