Air-supplying Respirator

An air-supplying respirator is a type of personal protective equipment (PPE) that provides breathable air from a clean source to the user. In aviation, air-supplying respirators are used by pilots, crew members, and ground personnel who may be exposed to hazardous fumes, gases, or smoke during aircraft maintenance, fueling, or firefighting operations. The respirator consists of a facepiece, a breathing tube, and a source of compressed air, such as a cylinder or an air compressor. The air is delivered to the user through a regulator that controls the flow rate and pressure. Air-supplying respirators provide a higher level of protection than filtering respirators, which rely on the user's breathing to filter out contaminants. They are also more comfortable to wear for extended periods of time.
