Air Traffic Control Service

Air Traffic Control Service (ATCS) is a service provided by ground-based controllers who coordinate the movement of aircraft to ensure that they maintain safe distances from each other. This service is crucial in maintaining order and safety in the skies, especially in busy airspaces around airports. ATCS is responsible for managing the flow of aircraft through all aspects of their flight, including taxiing on the ground, taking off, flying in the airspace, and landing. Controllers use radar, computers, and visual references to track and direct aircraft. They communicate with pilots via radio to provide instructions and information about weather conditions, runway status, and other critical data. ATCS is divided into three main types: tower control, which manages aircraft on the ground and in the immediate vicinity of the airport; approach and departure control, which handles aircraft within a larger radius around the airport; and en-route control, which oversees aircraft during the majority of their flight over long distances. The primary goal of ATCS is to prevent collisions between aircraft, but it also aims to expedite and maintain an orderly flow of air traffic and to provide information and other support to pilots.
