Aircraft Communication Addressing And Reporting System
The Aircraft Communication Addressing and Reporting System (ACARS) is a digital communication system that aircraft use to send and receive short messages to and from ground stations. The system uses a network of VHF ground stations, as well as satellite and HF communication, to ensure global coverage.
