Aircraft Lease

Aircraft lease refers to the arrangement in which an airline or other company obtains an aircraft from another party (the lessor) for a specified period of time and for a specified fee. The lessor may be an aircraft leasing company or a financial institution. The lessee may be responsible for maintenance, insurance, and other costs associated with the aircraft during the lease period. There are two main types of aircraft leases: operating leases and finance leases. Operating leases are typically shorter in duration and allow the lessee to return the aircraft at the end of the lease term. Finance leases are longer in duration and may include an option for the lessee to purchase the aircraft at the end of the lease term.
