ATPL

ATPL stands for Airline Transport Pilot License, which is the highest level of aircraft pilot certification. It allows the holder to act as the pilot-in-command (PIC) or co-pilot of an aircraft in commercial air transportation. To obtain an ATPL, a pilot must have a certain amount of flight experience and pass a series of theoretical and practical exams. The requirements vary depending on the country and aviation authority. In general, a pilot must have a minimum of 1,500 hours of flight time, including 500 hours of cross-country flight time, 100 hours of night flight time, and 75 hours of instrument flight time. The theoretical exams cover topics such as aerodynamics, navigation, meteorology, and aircraft systems. The practical exams include a check ride with an examiner and simulator training. An ATPL is required for pilots who want to work for airlines or other commercial operators.
