Autogiro Or Autogyro

An autogiro or autogyro is a type of rotorcraft that uses an unpowered rotor in autorotation to develop lift and an engine-powered propeller, similar to that of a fixed-wing aircraft, to provide thrust. Unlike a helicopter, the rotor of an autogiro is not powered by an engine, but instead rotates freely as the aircraft is propelled forward by an engine-driven propeller. The rotor is kept spinning by the forward motion of the aircraft, and lift is generated by the rotor's autorotation. Autogiros are typically used for reconnaissance, observation, and aerial photography, and are known for their ability to take off and land in short distances.
