Bleed Air
Bleed air is compressed air taken from the compressor stage of a gas turbine engine. This compressed air can be used for a variety of purposes such as pressurizing the cabin, starting other engines, and powering pneumatic systems. Bleed air is typically taken from the high-pressure compressor stage and is bled off through valves to the various systems that require it. The temperature and pressure of the bleed air can be controlled through the use of environmental control systems and pressure regulating valves.
