Cabin Altitude
Cabin altitude is the equivalent altitude above mean sea level inside an aircraft's cabin. As an aircraft climbs to higher altitudes, the air pressure decreases and the cabin altitude increases. To ensure passenger comfort and safety, aircraft are designed to maintain a maximum cabin altitude of 8,000 feet (2,438 meters) even when flying at higher altitudes. This is achieved through the use of cabin pressurization systems that regulate the air pressure inside the cabin.
