Celestial Navigation
Celestial Navigation is a method of navigating an aircraft by using the position of celestial bodies, such as stars, planets, and the moon. This method involves measuring the altitude and azimuth of a celestial body and comparing it to a known position on the earth. By using a sextant and nautical almanac, a pilot can determine their position and course. Celestial Navigation is often used as a backup to other navigation methods, such as GPS, and is particularly useful in situations where GPS is unavailable or unreliable.
