Coordinated Universal Time
Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) is the primary time standard by which the world regulates clocks and time. It is one of several closely related successors to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). For aviation purposes, UTC is used as the standard time reference to regulate air traffic and ensure safety. All aviation operations, including flight planning, takeoff and landing times, and air traffic control clearances, are based on UTC. This allows for consistency and accuracy in communication and coordination between pilots, air traffic controllers, and other aviation personnel across different time zones and regions.
