Cracking
Cracking is a process in which complex hydrocarbon molecules are broken down into simpler molecules by the application of heat and pressure. In aviation, cracking is used to produce aviation fuels such as gasoline, kerosene, and diesel fuel from crude oil. The process involves heating the crude oil to high temperatures and then passing it through a distillation column where the different fractions are separated based on their boiling points. The fractions are then further processed through cracking to produce the desired aviation fuel. The quality of the aviation fuel produced depends on the efficiency of the cracking process.
