ELTs
ELTs (Emergency Locator Transmitters) are electronic devices installed in aircraft that are designed to transmit a distress signal on a designated frequency in the event of an emergency. ELTs are activated either automatically by impact or manually by the pilot, and transmit a signal that can be detected by search and rescue teams. ELTs are an important component of aircraft safety equipment and are required by aviation authorities in many countries. There are different types of ELTs, including 406 MHz ELTs which provide more accurate location information and are required by international aviation regulations.
