Distress Signal
A distress signal is a means of indicating that an aircraft, ship, or individual is in imminent danger and requires immediate assistance. In aviation, a distress signal can be sent through various means such as radio communication, visual signals, or emergency locator transmitters (ELTs). The most commonly used distress signal in aviation is the internationally recognized Morse code signal of three dots, three dashes, and three dots (SOS). It is important for pilots to know how to send and receive distress signals in case of an emergency situation.
