Empennage

Empennage refers to the tail section of an aircraft, including the horizontal and vertical stabilizers, elevators, rudder, and trim tabs. The empennage provides stability and control for the aircraft during flight. The horizontal stabilizer and elevator control pitch, while the vertical stabilizer and rudder control yaw. Trim tabs are small surfaces on the trailing edge of the stabilizers that can be adjusted to fine-tune the aircraft's flight characteristics. The empennage is typically located at the rear of the aircraft and is attached to the fuselage.
