Horizontal Stabilizer

In aviation, the horizontal stabilizer is a fixed wing structure located at the tail of an aircraft that provides stability and control in pitch, which is the up-and-down motion of the aircraft. It is typically mounted at a right angle to the vertical stabilizer, which provides stability and control in yaw, or the side-to-side motion of the aircraft. The horizontal stabilizer is usually equipped with an elevator, which is a movable control surface that is attached to the trailing edge of the stabilizer and is used to control the pitch of the aircraft. The size and shape of the horizontal stabilizer and elevator are designed to provide the necessary stability and control for the specific aircraft type.
