Freefall

Freefall is a state of motion that an object experiences when it is falling freely under the sole influence of gravity. In aviation, freefall is often associated with skydiving, where a person jumps from an aircraft and falls freely towards the ground until the parachute is deployed. During freefall, the skydiver experiences a sensation of weightlessness and accelerates towards the ground at a rate of approximately 9.8 meters per second squared. Freefall is also a critical phase of spaceflight, where spacecraft and their occupants experience a state of apparent weightlessness as they orbit the Earth or travel through space.
