Fuel-air Mixture
Fuel-air mixture refers to the combination of fuel and air in the combustion chamber of an aircraft engine. The ratio of fuel to air is critical to the efficient operation of the engine. If there is too much fuel and not enough air, the mixture is said to be rich, which can lead to incomplete combustion, fouled spark plugs, and engine damage. If there is too much air and not enough fuel, the mixture is said to be lean, which can cause the engine to run hot and potentially damage the pistons.
