Fungi is a type of contamination that can occur in aircraft fuel systems. It is caused by the growth of microorganisms such as bacteria and fungi in the fuel tanks. Fungi can clog fuel filters, corrode metal surfaces, and cause engine failure. It is more commonly found in warm and humid climates, and can be prevented by using biocides and regularly cleaning and maintaining the fuel system.
