Glass Beads
In aviation, glass beads are small, spherical particles made of glass that are used in the process of creating reflective markings on runways and taxiways. These beads are mixed with paint and applied to the surface of the pavement, creating a reflective surface that enhances the visibility of the markings in low-light conditions. The beads are designed to reflect light back to its source, such as the headlights of an aircraft, making the markings more visible and improving safety during takeoff, landing, and taxiing.
