Gliding
Gliding is a recreational and competitive air sport in which pilots fly unpowered aircraft known as gliders or sailplanes. Gliders are designed to be launched into the air by various methods, such as being towed by a powered aircraft or winched into the air by a stationary ground-based winch. Once airborne, gliders use natural air currents, such as thermals and ridge lift, to gain altitude and stay aloft. Pilots can fly for hours and cover hundreds of kilometers in a single flight.
