Hydrogen

Hydrogen is a colorless, odorless, and tasteless gas that is the lightest element. In aviation, hydrogen is used as a fuel for aircraft propulsion systems. Hydrogen fuel cells are a promising technology for aviation as they produce electricity by combining hydrogen and oxygen, emitting only water vapor as a byproduct. Hydrogen can also be used as a lifting gas in airships, although this practice has largely been discontinued due to safety concerns.
