Impeller

In aviation, an impeller is a rotating component of a jet engine that consists of a disk with blades or vanes attached to it. The impeller compresses the incoming air and increases its pressure before it enters the combustion chamber. The impeller is driven by a turbine and rotates at high speeds, typically tens of thousands of revolutions per minute. Impellers are used in turbojet, turbofan, and turboprop engines to increase the efficiency and power output of the engine.
