International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO)

The International civil aviation organization (ICAO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations that sets standards and regulations necessary for aviation safety, security, efficiency, and regularity, as well as for aviation environmental protection. It serves as the global forum for civil aviation cooperation and coordination among its 193 member states and industry groups. ICAO works with its member states and industry partners to develop and implement global standards and recommended practices for air navigation, air traffic management, aviation security, and environmental protection. It also provides technical assistance and training to its member states to help them build capacity and improve their aviation systems.
