Jettisoning
Jettisoning is the act of intentionally throwing away or ejecting an object from an aircraft in flight. This is done to reduce weight, adjust the aircraft's center of gravity, or to get rid of a malfunctioning or hazardous item. Jettisoning can be performed manually or automatically, depending on the aircraft's design and the situation. The most common items jettisoned from an aircraft are fuel, cargo, and external stores such as missiles or bombs. Jettisoning is a critical safety procedure that must be performed in accordance with established procedures and regulations to ensure the safety of the aircraft and its occupants.
