LOS Event
A Loss of Signal (LOS) event occurs when a communication link between an aircraft and a ground station or satellite is interrupted or lost. This can happen due to various reasons such as the aircraft moving out of range, equipment failure, or interference. LOS events can have serious consequences in aviation, especially in situations where real-time communication is critical for safety, such as during takeoff and landing or in emergency situations. Pilots and air traffic controllers must be trained to handle LOS events and have backup communication systems in place to ensure the safety of the aircraft and its passengers.
