Marshalling

Marshalling is the process of guiding an aircraft on the ground at an airport, either by visual signalling or by radio communication with the pilots. Marshalling is typically performed by ground personnel known as marshals or wing walkers, who use standardized hand signals to communicate with the pilots and guide the aircraft safely to its parking position. The marshals are responsible for ensuring that the aircraft is clear of all obstacles and that it is parked in the correct position, with the engines shut down and the parking brake engaged. Marshalling is an important aspect of ground handling operations, as it helps to ensure the safety and efficiency of aircraft movements on the ground.
