Mayday Frequency

Mayday Frequency is the international radio frequency designated for emergency communications by aircraft in distress. It is used to transmit a Mayday distress call, which is the highest priority call for help in aviation. The Mayday Frequency is 121.5 MHz and is monitored by air traffic control centers, search and rescue teams, and other aircraft in the vicinity. In case of an emergency, the pilot of the distressed aircraft should immediately switch to the Mayday Frequency and transmit the Mayday call, which includes the aircraft's identification, nature of emergency, and location. The Mayday Frequency is a critical tool for ensuring the safety of aircraft and passengers in emergency situations.
